Principals Weekly Update to Parents

Center High School Families and Friends,

This is Mr. Ferguson, Center High School principal, with my weekly message.  If you are interested in joining me for my “Second Cup of Coffee,” on Tuesdays from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM—a time when I have open office hours—please contact Ms. Poor at (916) 338-6422 to schedule and reserve a time.

As a friendly reminder, there is no school on Monday, January 20th in observance on Martin Luther King, Jr.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, with a regular B day.

Center High School is conducting a school climate and safety survey and we would love to have parent/guardian input.  The link to the survey is on our website under the parent tab.  The survey is titled “Parent Safety Survey 2020.”

If you have a senior who took the ASVAB on December 12th, there will be an interpretation meeting to go over their results on Thursday, January 23 in the library at 2:00 pm.  Also, there will be a financial aid information night on Thursday, January 30th, at 5:30 PM in the library.  Financial aid advisers will be available to assist you or your senior student and answer any questions you might have.  For more information or if you have questions about the ASVAB or financial aid night, please contact Mr. Camarena, the College and Career Coordinator.

Here are a few quick messages from Center High School Boosters:

SENIORS!!!! Sober Grad portal is NOW OPEN. This year’s event will be at DEFY Sacramento. Follow the link www.chssobergrad.com to take advantage of our early bird pricing ($45). You only have a short time before the price increases to $65.

Sober Grad Committee is looking for parent volunteers to help with the planning of Sober Grad Night.  The success of this Grad Night party depends upon volunteers...and LOTS of them.

The Boosters next meeting is Tuesday, January 21st at 6:30p at the Round Table in the Bel Air shopping center.

We hope to see you there!

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing three day weekend.

 Sincerely,

Jerald Ferguson
